The EY School Leaver Programme has an acceptance rate of around 3–5%. Here's exactly how to go from application to offer: stage by stage.
The Process, In Order
Online Application
Complete the application form: personal details, grades, and motivational questions. Application window: October–January for the following September start.
Online Assessments
Cognitive ability tests and a Situational Strength Test (SST)
Video Interview
Pre-recorded video interview: competency and motivational questions before the assessment centre invite
Assessment Centre
Partner/senior manager interview
What the Top Candidates Do Differently
- ✓Apply in the first two weeks of the window opening: roles fill on a rolling basis
- ✓Prepare 5–7 STAR stories before starting the application: you'll need them at multiple stages
- ✓Know EY's business in detail, not just the sector. EY's partnership culture and global network are genuine differentiators. Strong candidates reference specific EY service lines or recent EY reports, not generic 'Big Four' talking points.
- ✓Practice the online tests with the actual provider formats, not generic aptitude apps
- ✓Record a video interview practice session and watch it back before the real thing
